Our story
There's a version of this page with a sunset photo and a paragraph about passion and craftsmanship. You've read it before, at every builder's site, and it told you nothing. Here's ours instead: nineteen homes, five streets, and what we're trying to do with them.
What we're for
Somewhere along the way, "starter home" became a thing builders stopped making. The math pushed everyone toward bigger houses on cheaper land further out, and the result is a metro full of people who can't buy anything near where they already live.
We build the other thing. Small, well-made homes on streets that already have sidewalks and trees, using the middle housing rules Oregon put in place to make exactly this possible. Classic proportions, modern systems, and layouts drawn for how people actually live rather than for how a floor plan photographs.
None of that requires a lecture about craftsmanship. It shows up in the square footage, the tolerances we publish, and the fact that you can walk the finished house before you commit to it.
Built for communities.
Designed for life.
The work
Anyone can claim experience. These you can drive past. Every number below is a house standing or going up right now, on a street you can find on a map.
Six cottages going up at once on SE View Acres Road. Four more at Risley, three of them already lived in. Rehabs on Laurel and Stanley, townhomes behind them, and one more working through permitting in southeast Portland. Four plan names repeat — Chester, Somerset, Milton and Hubbard — because most of what we build gets drawn for the lot it sits on.
What's available now →Where this goes
Six cottages where one house used to fit, and the block still looks like the block. Middle housing works when nobody driving past can tell it happened.
Efficient plans, proven details, no wasted square footage. The savings come from how the house is designed and built, not from what got left out of it.
Classic proportions age better than trends, and small well-built homes stay in demand through markets that punish everything else. That matters to whoever owns it in year fifteen.
Some of these become somebody's first house. Some become a rental, or the ADU where a parent moves in. We build them to work either way — that flexibility is the point of this kind of housing.
Come see one
We haven't put headshots on this page, and we're not going to. You'll meet whoever's running the job when you walk the home — which tells you more in ten minutes than a bio would in a year.
Project counts, plans, designs and specifications are current as of publication and subject to change without notice. Square footage and completion timelines are approximate. Nothing on this page is an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy where prior registration is required. Full disclaimer
